Sowing Seeds of Community
"Do you understand that your quality of life and your survival are tied to how authentic and generous the connections are between you and the people and place you live with and in?"
~adrienne maree brown
Inspired by the community storytelling stand, Story Seeds, these interactive workshops use Story Circles and guided art-making to plant the seeds for intentional community building. Story Circle themes are tailored to the host community.
The Blue Zones Challenge:
Intentional Relationships for Longevity
January 2023
Urban Life Center, Baltimore, MD
Blue Zones are "areas of the world where people live the longest lives, consistently reaching age 100." In studying these long-lived people, researcher Dan Buettner identified nine lifestyle habits that contributed to healthy living. Three of these revolved around community-building: find a sense of BELONGing, put LOVED ONES FIRST, and find your RIGHT TRIBE. Developed in collaboration with the Urban Life Center for their January Blue Zones Challenge, this workshop helped participants reflect on a community they wanted to develop deeper relationships with.
