"When I Grow Up" Oct 2021

This storyteller had recently moved to Baltimore from Davis, CA about a month ago, to work for Baltimore Transportation. Like me, he visited the Waverly market the first Saturday he was in town. He’s surrounded by so much produce! His brain is like--serotonin! Already he has made connections with vendors. Mr. Dwight from Cajou Creamery—“Mr. Dwight is so cool! He makes my day. I want to be him when I grow up!” he tells me. Today he has a pint of Mexican Cacao ice cream to enjoy throughout the week, if it will last that long. He bought a burrito too from Taco Loco, and practiced speaking Spanish with them. His Spanish is really bad, he admits, but he appreciates the opportunity to practice, especially being in Baltimore where he doesn’t see many Hispanic people. Their salsa is amazing.
