This mom drew hot chai from Chachu’s Chai, new to the winter market this season. Handground, steamed with oatmilk, and ladled out of a piping hot pot and topped with saffron, and served with a cake rusk for dipping. The mom emphasized the sliding scale price, and seemed to be enjoying this treat for herself as her son munched on a jumbo chocolate chip muffin in his stroller. He wore a Towson University sweatshirt. His mom almost went there – she was close enough to going that she bought him the sweatshirt – but decided that it was too expensive and too much of a commitment as a new mother. She enrolled in online courses instead. Family, friends & food…that’s what she thinks about when she thinks about the farmers market.
