Compost Band Oct 2021
Oct-21

“As a person who has played flute and saxophone in a jazz quintet for 25 years, the pandemic destroyed my musical life. You can’t play a wind instrument with a mask. So my keyboard playing friend suggested we switch to accordion and clarinet at the Waverly Market. Not only is it great fun, but our tip jar money has been sent to the Maryland Food Bank.” Don was the one community member who shared his Story Seed on the Padlet, which I set up to try and create a digital realm for these stories. I first met his partner Fred as I was setting up my table at the market. I learned that Fred’s kids were involved in theater. And that Fred and Don were trying to come up with a band name. My favorite was “The Compost Band.”
