Regrowing Green Onions 9.2.23

“What are you planning to make with all those greens?” I asked. This storyteller's bags were overflowing with collard greens and kale. “I’ll cook them down, freeze some, or if I’m lazy, use the Crock Pot,” he said. This is his first time at the 32nd St Farmers Market. He just started working at the hospital up the street, so he can walk to the market. He loves that he can get fresh veggies here. He much prefers doing his shopping here than at the grocery store. He shows me the green onions he bought. “Once I get down to the whites, I’ll put them in water and let them grow. I’m learning this stuff.” This won’t be his last time at the market!
