Recipes for the Market

Baltimore-based artist Nikita Yogaraj custom-designed linocut blocks that depicted different images from the farmers market--from baby strollers to fresh collard greens to a map of the Black Butterfly/White L to highlight the unequal access to fresh food in Baltimore City. Guided by Nikita, community members present at the Story Market: Tastes of Home printed these blocks to create the art piece, "Recipes for the Market." The art piece was auctioned off and proceeds donated to Black Yield Institute, one of the participating vendors for Tastes of Home.
